Dr. Elissa M. Calapai is a partner physician at Cenegenics Boca Raton.

A former specialist in internal medicine, Dr. Calapai began her medical practice with the North Broward Hospital District and later joined the Holy Cross Medical Group. Dissatisfied with the state of traditional internal medicine, she sought a preventive approach that would allow her additional time to properly educate her patients. This goal ultimately led the way to Dr. Calapai’s Cenegenics training and certification, and she joined Cenegenics Boca Raton as a clinical physician in 2007.



“Practicing age management medicine is much more rewarding and much more enjoyable because you get to know your patients extremely well, achieving positive endpoints with them and helping them live healthier longer,” Dr. Calapai says. She earned a BS degree from Fairfield University in Fairfield, Connecticut, and her doctor of osteopathic medicine degree in 1997 from Nova Southeastern University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine (Fort Lauderdale, Florida), where she was on the Dean’s List.

Dr. Calapai completed an internship at the Miami Heart Institute (Florida) and a residency in internal medicine at the Cleveland Clinic (Florida and Ohio). In her academic career, she received the Jeffrey B. Shiroky, MD, FRCPB Research Award and was included in Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities & Colleges.
